In 2008, I wanted to travel over land from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Leaving Kathmandu, we were transported to the Gyirong border where the Chinese customs kept our passports for the night. Only the next day, we were able to continue our trip along Shigatse and Gyantse to Lhasa.

Many of the local people did not want to be photographed so taking portrait photos of these interesting faces was somewhat difficult. Fortunately, the trip through Tibet provided plenty of opportunity to take great photos. Unfortunately, the quality of digital cameras in those days is nothing compared to what it is nowadays so going back to this trip once again, is something that's still in my mind. Anyway, just these few photos in this album, probably show that travelling through Tibet provides plenty of unforgettable experiences.

The city of Lhasa was definitely a highlight of the trip but also Yamdrok Lake was beautiful to see.
